I think so much of this describes me. Coupled with complex grief from a few different really close hard losses - I seem to really be struggling and I'm not sure where to turn.

I also fit into the gifted category as an adult. I was an early reader, perfectionist and never felt that I really ever fit in. I would “underachieve” on purpose so I wouldn’t be different from my peers. I wish my school at the time would have provided me with better support. I’m now an art teacher (art school grad) and I see my students and even my own children struggle with this same problem. Public schools just don’t offer enough resources for high achievers. I have developed anxiety and have also experienced a couple of hard losses that have made life a little harder. I am resilient though, and try to overcome & persevere.
