Has your TikTok or another social media platform been serving you autism-related content and you're absolutely beyond curious?

While we provide assessment for any adult or young adult, we have a special interest in serving women (or those socialized as female), gifted/NEUROCOMPLEX, trans, and BIPOC individuals as these individuals may have traits of autism that have been overlooked or misunderstood by the mainstream culture (including mental health).

We've had a waitlist for the past year, but we just added an astute, neurodiversity-affirming assessor to the Method Creative Autism Assessment team and we are catching up as well as now accepting NEW assessment clients for residents of Minnesota, Arizona, California, Colorado, Florida, Idaho, Oregon, Utah, or Washington (or those willing to travel to one of those states for the assessment)!

Assessment at Method will soon be available to anyone in a Counseling Compact State. We are waiting on legislation to open up these states to our providers, so the timing is out of our hands. Stay tuned!

Our Commitment to You
As a team of assessors at Method, we want to acknowledge that recent public commentary around autism may make the assessment process feel especially vulnerable or overwhelming. Please know that you're not alone in feeling this way—and that your trust is something we hold with great care.

Confidentiality is one of our highest priorities. As a private-pay practice, we do not report diagnoses to third-party payers or governing systems. You will receive documentation of your assessment results, which you are free to share with other providers at your discretion. If shared, your diagnosis may be included in your medical chart, depending on the policies of the receiving provider.

Our approach to assessment is grounded in respect for neurodivergent identity. We reject any suggestion that the neurodivergent brain is a disordered version of a neurotypical one. Instead, we center the lived experience of neurocomplexity and aim to create an affirming, collaborative process that reflects the whole person.

If you have access needs, questions, or hesitations as we move forward, we welcome them. This process is a partnership, and we are committed to making it as transparent, empowering, and supportive as possible.

Why now?
Autism presentation and experience can very greatly from person to person, making it difficult at times to trust your own thoughts regarding self-diagnosis. You also may wonder "why now?", as you've survived this long without a diagnosis. Benefits of seeking out an autism diagnosis as an adult can include:

Self understanding (and compassion). Autism diagnosis later in life can help you connect the dots of your inner matrix regarding past attempts at therapy, socializing, feeling like a human that never quite clicked for you. Heck, you might even seek support from other autistic communities and thrive (unmasked!).
Adequate professional support. Therapy interventions and workplaces that are created for allistic individuals may not be helpful for autistic people. An autism diagnosis and recommendations can help you to find accurate support and to advocate for accommodations that best meet your needs.

Autism Assessment with Comprehensive Report : $1,875

For those interested in receiving a full report (20-30 pages) that includes: Assessment format, Screening tools and results (with graphs), Presenting concerns and Biopsychosocial Narrative, Documentation of reports from assessment interview(s) with correlative diagnostic criteria, Diagnostic Findings, Diagnostic Discussion, Recommendations
Do I need this? We recommend this option for those who plan to formally request any type of accommodation (academic, workplace, etc.) or disability support. This option is also recommended for those who desire more comprehensive documentation of their assessment and findings

Autism Assessment with Abbreviated Report : $975

Includes an abbreviated report (~4-5 pages) of the Screening tool results, Diagnostic criteria met in the assessment, Diagnostic findings, and Recommendations
This option is a good fit for those who are not as interested in the written report, but wanting confirmation from a licensed provider on neurodivergent diagnoses

Quantitative assessment and screening tools: DIVA-5
1.5-2 hour Interview (virtual or in office)
Collateral information from partner, family or friend (Optional)

Comprehensive or Abbreviated report is sent to you through a private client portal

Our assessors are able to offer ADHD Assessment as a supplemental addition to an Autism assessment, or as a standalone service. Report option defaults to that selected for the Autism assessment (comprehensive or abbreviated)

Giftedness Profiling
Gifted Profiling at Method offers a unique opportunity to explore your neurocomplexity through the lens of giftedness and provides output on the following:

your dominant areas of intelligence
your areas of intensity and drive (overexcitabilities)
your dominant thinking style
curated recommendations and resources for further exploration into this area of neurodivergence

Giftedness Profiling offering at Method includes:

Qualitative interview: 1.5-2 hour Interview (virtual or in office)
Follow up meeting to discuss findings with assessor (Optional)
Report is sent to you through a private client portal

Based on the model of profiling by Intergifted, Gifted Profiling assessors at Method have completed multiple gifted-specific trainings and gifted profiling assessments over the years. Our assessors are able to offer gifted profiling as a supplemental addition to an Autism and/or ADHD assessment, or as a standalone service.
